New Zealand start, and PWRC Champion Hayden Paddon is out of Rally Finland.
Paddon was 2nd in the SWRC class just 3.9 seconds off leader and local driver Lappi after SS4 urria. But on Stage 5 trouble hit the Kiwi. As his engine dropped to just 2 cylinders towards the end of the stage. They tried to get it back to service but unfortunately, the problem was terminal.
Hayden Paddon said on his Facebook page. “Sorry everyone but our Rally Finland is over. Our Engine dropped to 2 cylinders, 2Kms from the end of SS5 & despite tring to limb to service, it seems that it is terminal. We are not allowed to fix or replace the engine as per Super Rally rules. Very gutted as the car was feeling so good and there was a lot more speed to come. At least the times were good but now really determine for the next round. Thanks everyone.”
