Loeb holds lead mid day on day 3 of Monte

The monte Carlo rally is all about tyres, an getting the conditions right. 5 different types to choose from. Get it wrong an u can easily loose over 3 mins or even slide out of the rally. A lot of snow and rain expected today so Loeb’s 1 min lead could disappear very quickly.

With tough weather conditions today, Loeb took it very easy, 6th fastest on first stage of morning. Petter was on a mission and went fastest, claiming 2nd place back off Sordo, but on the following 24km stage, the sheet ice an fog caught the Norwegian out. Petter spun off, lost 2 mins an dropped back to 3rd, now 1 minute behind Sordo. It was in fact new Citroen driver Mikko Hirvonen who went fastest on SS12, clearly showing that he is getting used to his new DS3, he holds 4th place just 30 seconds behind Petter. Service now in Valence. Then while drivers are out on last stage of today, the teams pack up service an move down to Monaco an set up for evening service.

Final stage today is SS13, the 29.89km Montauban.
