Sebastien Ogier takes a record breaking 5th win on wales Rally GB, to close the gap to Championship leader Neuville to just 7 points with just two rounds left.

A dramatic day 3 to Wales Rally GB and for the title fight. Rally leader, Ott Tanak retired with mechanical issues, Neuville slipped into a ditch and landed in 8th. All this left Sebastien Ogier – Who was taking a ‘risk all’ approach from this mornings 5th place – Which paid off. The Frenchman ends a dramatic Saturday in Wales with a 4.4 second lead over Toyota’s Jari-Matti Latvala, with Toyota team mate, Esapekka Lappi in 3rd.

Over in the WRC2 class, Skoda’s 18 years old youngster Kalle Rovanpera leads the way, with team mate Pontus Tidemand over a minute behind.

After a tough day in the welsh weather. Toyota leads the way once again. This time with Ott Tanak, who is increasingly becoming unstoppable. Championship leader Neuville ends the day in 2nd with Latvala 3rd. Ogier, who said before the event, that he needs to win to keep his title hopes alive, is down in 5th after gearbox problems. Team mate – and last years winner Elfyn Evans- had to retire from 2nd place this afternoon with engine problems.

Wales Rally GB kicked off once again on Thursday night with a short 1.7km blast around Tir Prince and it’s the Toyota’s that lead the way with Lappi on the top spot, with team mate Jari Matti Latvala 2nd. Title rivals Neuville, Ogier and Tanak close behind, just 9 tenths of a second from the leader.
