Months, Years even, worth of rumours have finally been answered today. As WRC Legend and 9 Times World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb Confirms that he will Race in the 2016 Dakar Rally.

The Frenchman will join two times World Rally Champion and Dakar Rally Winner Carlos Sainz along with other Dakar winners Despres & Peterhansel with Peugeot to create Motorsports ‘Dream team’.

Sebastien Loeb says, “Very happy to announce that I agree with the “D-Ream team peugeot total” alongside Carlos Sainz, Stephane Peterhansel and Cyril Depres! A new adventure is waiting for me and that in the coming days.
I’ll take part in the rally of Morocco then in dakar with the 2008 Dkr. A bit like pikes peak in 2013, this is all new to me, but it is a discipline that has always attracted me and I’m curious to the discover. It will be with danos in Morocco. We’re gonna have to take new benchmarks, discover a new way of looking at things, but it’s great to ride again with my co-pilot of always. I will say more very soon!”

Next years Dakar Rally is shaping up to be a WRC fest! As well as Loeb an Sainz, Ex-WRC driver Mikko Hirvonen has joined X-raid team. As well as Current WRC drivers Nasser Al-attiyah and Yazeed Alrajhi.
